Our project partner – PermaCultura Cantabria hosted a 5-day staff training between the 19th and 23rd of last May for 11 participants from the 7 project partner organisations. As part of our climate campaign, we have been working on a report compiling information about Malta’s energy system and its climate impacts, the proposed Melita TransGas pipeline, and a vision for a future without fossil fuels. In May we hosted the last session of the Social PEAS project in the Friends of the Earth Malta Green Resource Centre We had our last session of the Social Permaculture course to reflect on the lessons learned and challenges we met. In May, we organized a nature walk in Majjistral National Park together with the Deaf People Association Malta. The event began with a showcase of the official signs created by the Maltese Deaf community for local flora. We enjoyed a guided walk in Majjistral Park, where we had the opportunity to observe the local plants and learn the new signs associated with them. Teachers will act as Climate Change Ambassadors in Primary Schools!
Congratulations to our teachers who have completed the Climate Early Teacher training and become Climate Change Ambassadors for their schools! During the project, we had 5 trainings with school teachers. In the first session, we discussed Climate Change and responsibility followed by a painting activity about appreciating our beautiful earth!
