Sabela comes from the green region of Galicia in the North of Spain. She studied International Relations in Madrid and after some years in the city she decided to head Latin America to explore different ways of living and relating to the environment. She spent two years working with NGOs in rural and indigenous communities across Peru and Chile, until Covid hit and she went back so Spain to study a Masters in Humanitarian Action. Having the second semester of the programme in the University of Malta, Sabela moved to the island two years ago, and eventually found a nice place to live combining the things she currently enjoys the most: climbing, diving and collaborating with climate and refugee related organisations. Sabela has been working in the field of EU funds and has recently joined Friends of the Earth Malta, where she hopes to bring her experience and enthusiasm to the team.
