Friends of the Earth Malta (FoEM) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Volunteer Campaign Assistant to join our Food, Agriculture, and Biodiversity (FAB) campaign team.
This is a dynamic opportunity to actively support FoEM’s long-term vision of a local food system based on sustainable farming practices and food sovereignty, where healthy and accessible food is available to all. The volunteer will specifically help in achieving the goal to re-establish work on plant-based diets and food waste reduction through campaigning, awareness-raising, and workshops.

💪 Main Duties
The Volunteer Campaign Assistant will work directly with the FAB team to implement the campaign’s objectives, with a focus on plant-based and sustainable food solutions. Main duties include:
- Campaign Research & Content: Assisting with the research and creation of campaign materials (including online tools and communication content) that promote plant-based diets, sustainable food consumption, and food waste reduction.
- Event and Workshop Support: Helping to plan, organise, and run educational activities and workshops for the public on a yearly basis, such as plant-based cooking sessions, composting skills, and food waste reduction workshops.
- Funding Support: Assisting the team in identifying and applying for funding opportunities specifically aimed at re-establishing campaign work on plant-based diets and food waste reduction.
- Stakeholder Outreach: Supporting initiatives that bridge the gap between farmers and consumers (e.g., farm visits and educational events) and helping to identify and network with people-led local solutions in food production.
- General Administration: Providing administrative and logistical support for the FAB campaign team to ensure objectives are met.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about sustainable food systems, environmental protection, and community empowerment.
- ✅ Strong communication and organisational skills.
- 🤗 Proactive, motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- 💬 Genuine interest in sustainable agriculture and plant based food.
- 🗣️ Good command of English (Maltese is a strong asset).
- 🖥️ Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, email) and experience with social media or content creation is a plus.
