Friends of the Earth Malta (FoE Malta) is looking for a temporary Project Assistant to work on our campaign related to Food Sovereignty and Agriculture. The post is a temporary part-time position of approximately 15hrs a week for a period of 3 months. The Project Assistant would be responsible of mainly 2 actions:
- carrying out research into farms in Malta to create a database that will be accessible to citizens to purchase fruit and veg directly from the producers
- supporting with logistics of an activity scheduled for October 2019, Good Food Good Farming–part of a European day of action
The Project Assistant will be working alongside FoEM staff and volunteers and must be able to work well within a team but also on their own. The working conditions are flexible and will be discussed further during the interview.
Essential requirements
- Affinity with the vision and values of Friends of the Earth Malta
- Be fluent in Maltese and English
- Have a registered VAT number
- Have basic research skills
- Basic understand of crops and agriculture in Malta
- Have experience in event organising
- Be organised and meticulous with a high degree of commitment and able to work within a specific budget
- Be flexible and can work on own initiative
- Be able to work on weekends
- Have excellent people and communication skills
Desirable requirements:
- Have a background in NGOs or voluntary activities
- Have a farming background
