FoEM awarded with two new grants to fund the projects

On the 23rd of February, we attended SIS / VOPS Awarding Ceremony 2023 organized by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector. Earlier in 2022 we applied for grants for two projects which will be new for us: Setting Up for Success and Comino Educational Campaign.

The grants were presented to the volunteer organisations by Julia Farrugia Portelli, the Minister for Inclusion, Voluntary Work, and Consumer Right, together with Pace Parascandalo, in the presence of Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Inclusion, Voluntary Work, and Consumer Rights Nancy Caruana, and Commissioner for Volunteer Organisations Jesmond Saliba.

The first project, Setting Up for Success, was awarded with the grant under Small Initiatives Support Scheme launched by the Voluntary Organisations Fund within the Malta Council. The project aims to develop a well-thought-out, detailed fundraising strategy for the organisation and opportunities to share this knowledge with other environmental non-governmental organisations.

Comino Educational Campaign received the grant under the Voluntary Organisations Project Scheme. The project aims to create educational materials about the island of Comino. Comino is a Natura 2000 site which is worthy of protection. The project will demonstrate its importance and show how to enjoy the island responsibly.

Almost €1 million was awarded in grants to volunteer organisations by The Maltese Council for the Voluntary Sector (MCVS), within the Ministry for Inclusion, Voluntary Work, and Consumer Rights, to carry out 87 new community projects. The projects fall within the Volunteer Organisations Projects Scheme and the Small Initiative Support Scheme.
