On the 16th and 17th of February 2023, RESET had the pleasure to host the first Transnational Meeting of the YOUTHECO project in Limassol, Cyprus.
The coordinator of the project, ASPIRE Education Group (Germany), welcomed all the project partners, namely, RESET (Cyprus), FOEM (Malta), SYMPLEXIS (Greece), IC-Geoss (Slovenia) and The Polish Farm Advisory (Poland).
YOUTHECO is a 2-year Erasmus+ project with the aim to strengthen the employability of young people. The project will support marginalized youth, such as NEETs and young women, in their re-skilling and upskilling towards the green economy.
In doing so YOUTHECO supports these groups’ integration into the labor market by providing an open resource toolbox that comprises of nonformal learning on green sector areas such as Forest-based care, Waste Reduction, Social agriculture, Energy supply, Urban green care, Ecotourism, Green Entrepreneurship.
Additionally, the project goes a step further in empowering NEETs and young women through the provision of work shadowing placements in the green sector areas, which will be arranged via the project’s online hub. This will increase NEETs and young women’s green sector knowledge, task management skills, work environment skills, interpersonal skills, and workplace learning skills. It will also build NEETs and young women’s network of contacts in the green sector, as well as the development of field awareness and experience, which are skills sought after by most employers, thus making them more employable and attractive to the swiftly expanding green sector economy.
