Julian Manduca Green Resource Centre in Floriana
Community in Nature is a long-term vision where Friend of the Earth Malta is establishing a hub for communities and activists seeking knowledge, skills development and guidance on environmental justice issues.
FoE Malta engages with communities and other NGOs for the centre to provide different opportunities to raise awareness, increase knowledge and practice on the importance of our local and national heritage.
Being centrally located in Floriana, the centre can serve as a gateway for events organised with other like minded organisations and individuals to appreciate nature in urban areas including bird-watching, nature and heritage trails in the Marsamxett Harbour and the Grand Harbour areas.
Be part of an active community eco hub
Through the various programs offered, the centre is aiming to empower and inspire the visitors and participants to lead a more environmentally sustainable lifestyle. In addition to office space and equipment, the centre offers a multifunctional space with audio visual facilities and an urban garden. In addition to the workshops and events, the centre includes a reading library and also offers other services including the rental of tools and resources such as honey harvesting equipment. The centre also acts as a hub from where to organise monthly events such as a repair café, swap shop and initiatives targeting food waste.
