Urban Cycling Skills Training
June 3 @ 17:30 - 20:30 CEST
Do you know how to cycle, have a bicycle, but need some support to feel confident to cycle Malta’s busy roads? In our Urban Cycling Skills training, experienced commuter cyclists Joe Gatt and Mike Rosner will teach you about the traffic rules for bicycle users in Malta, how to position yourself on the road, how to tackle busy roundabouts, and how to ensure you are visible while cycling in traffic, and more. After a presentation with tips, we will go out as a group by bicycle around Floriana and Valletta to practise together and build confidence on the road. The number of participants is very limited, to ensure we are a manageable group. We will cycle as a group, with instructors at the front and rear.
Join us on World Bicycle Day, Monday 3 June, for the first Urban Cycling Skills training, organised by Friends of the Earth Malta in collaboration with Joe Gatt and Mike Rosner. The training will run from 17:30 – 20:30, starting and finishing at the Friends of the Earth Malta Green Resource Centre in Floriana. Coffee, tea and light refreshments will be provided. This training is part of our Micromobi project, promoting micromobility such as bicycles and scooters as a cool, fast and green alternative to private cars.
Please note that to participate, you need to bring a working bicycle, a helmet, and front and rear lights (white front, red rear) for your bicycle. We require a deposit of 5 euro to secure your spot.
We will provide hi-viz (reflective) vests to ensure we are visible as a group.
Registration is required (below)
