Friends of the Earth Malta together with Healthylicious will be hosting an online Sustainable Cooking Workshop with vegetarian recipes on Saturday, 8 May from 10:00-13:00. The workshop will be held using Zoom.
The focus of the cooking class will be on using local vegetables in solidarity with local farmers who have been struggling to sell their fruit and veg during this pandemic. During the cooking workshop, you will be trying vegetarian recipes that are both good for our health and also the planet. Our chef carefully prepares delicious recipes to feature mainly seasonal, local, and homegrown ingredients, and those coming from close by. Ideas on how to reduce food waste will also be discussed and shown during class.
Stef will prepare ingredient packs for all participants and these will need to be picked up by participants a day or 2 before the event. Further communication will be sent to you following registration.
This workshop is open to people of all ages who are passionate about good food.
On the day we will be cooking:
- Potato Gnocchi with Broad Bean and Mint Pesto (GF & vegetarian but can be adapted to be fully vegan)
- Vanilla Panna Cotta with Poached Loquats (naspli) (GF & vegan)
You will receive instructions on when to pick up the ingredient box, a list of utensils to use and the Zoom link and information on how to join the call on Wednesday 5th May.
Spaces are limited. To register fill in the form below. DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS SUNDAY 2ND MAY at 22:00 CET.
Cooking class participation is at a fee of €15 euros (discounted from €30 to make participation more accessible!) This includes all ingredients to prepare a meal for 2 people as well as the cooking workshop.
