Community Garden Session – Social Permaculture Workshop

March 23 @ 14:00 - 18:00 CET

The Community Garden at Friends of the Earth Malta is having a special edition this month!

This event will focus on Social Permaculture. But what is it you ask? Social Permaculture focuses on building strong and resilient communities by creating productive and sustainable systems that benefit both the community and the environment. We will talk about Social Permaculture principles and practices, and will share some information about the Social PEAS project and its online learning platform. We will also get our hands dirty with two hands-on permaculture workshops: join us to learn how to plant fruit trees in our garden and learn how to create a wicking bed from recycled materials to grow your own veggies!

There will also be a chance to tour the community garden with local pollinator-friendly plants, garden ponds, and a vermicompost worm farm.

There will be water, snacks, and teas/coffees for everyone. We will provide vegetarian catering for this special session, to share some drinks and nibbles after all our hard work. You are also encouraged to bring along vegetarian food to share after the session.

The Social PEAS (Social Permaculture: Empowering an Active Society) project is focused on creating permaculture training for professionals working with vulnerable adults. The Social PEAS project is co-funded by the EU.
