We invite you to participate in international photographic competition Wiki Loves Earth! It aims at promoting natural heritage sites and creatures around the world, it is the second-largest photography competition in the world.
Why participate?
The top 15 winning photos will be published in the Times of Malta and the top 10 photos taken at one of the 300 protected natural sites in Malta will receive a goody bag from Wikimedia Community Malta during the 2023 Malta Book Festival and go through to the international competition. Winners will be announced by in August/September 2023.

How to participate
The competition runs from 1 May – 31 July 2023.
You can share as many of your photos as you like and these can have been taken at any time, you don’t have to live in Malta to take part.
Please take photos with GPS turned on if possible.
When you create a Wikimedia account please include your email address so we can contact you if you win.
You can also enter images for any of the other participating countries.

Wikimedia Community Malta is a wiki user group based in Malta.
This group aims to encourage the uptake of wiki activity among Maltese communities, through the implementation of various wiki activities, projects, and training & outreach events. Special attention is given to the Maltese-language Wikipedia and Wikidata.
We started operating formally as a registered voluntary organization in early 2016 and in August 2016 Wikimedia Community User Group Malta was officially granted user group status through the Wikimedia Foundation’s Affiliations Committee.
