Hands on Labs on Urban Green care with youths

This month, as part of the YouthECO project, Friends of the Earth Malta hosted a dynamic, hands-on workshop at the Fgura Youth Centre! Our sessions aim to empower youth, NEETs, and young women through engaging activities from our Youth ECO Toolkit.

Participants embarked on an exciting journey through our interactive Youth ECO Toolkit, exploring local green spaces, identifying potential improvements, and learning about urban sustainability. From mapping green areas to brainstorming innovative ideas, the workshop encouraged creativity and collaboration.

“I had an opportunity where I could voice my opinion, along with other youths, on how my locality can better utilise open spaces. It was a good experience where I could challenge and share my views. Usually us youths, don’t get so many opportunities to contribute to such matters.” – Youth participant

“ It was fascinating to see youths getting engaged and involved in sharing their ideas. What I liked most is that different modes of learning/ engaging were used; namely hands on, verbal learning and visuals.” Youth Leader

It was inspiring to witness the passion and engagement from everyone involved as they worked together to imagine a greener future for their community. The energy and enthusiasm of the youth showed the potential for a positive impact on our environment!
