In May, we organized a nature walk in Majjistral National Park together with the Deaf People Association Malta. The event began with a showcase of the official signs created by the Maltese Deaf community for local flora. We enjoyed a guided walk in Majjistral Park, where we had the opportunity to observe the local plants and learn the new signs associated with them. Finally, we treated ourselves to vegetarian refreshments and snacks provided by Core Green.
Thank you to everyone who participated in our event and supported us! Let’s remember how it was by enjoying the beautiful pictures made by Samuel Sanchiz
About Project PANCAKE:
As part of the Project PANCAKE (Plants and Nature Conveying Augmented Knowledge for Everyone) we are looking at a number of plant species chosen together with the deaf communities in Malta, Italy, Spain and UK to create new signs for plants which until now had never been described in sign language.
