Renewable Energy Communities in Malta: Results from research project

In June, Friends of the Earth Malta hosted 30 students from Wageningen University and Research (the Netherlands). These students conducted research on Renewable Energy Communities as part of their ‘European Workshop’ study unit.

The students, who came from diverse backgrounds and countries, spent 10 days in Malta collecting information and making observations across five different geographic areas corresponding to the main island’s five regions. They gathered nearly 700 survey responses and conducted 18 interviews with representatives from governmental entities, regional councils, SMEs, and NGOs.
