We live in a fast-paced digital world where 75% of Europeans grow up in urban areas — making us increasingly detached from nature. Together with FOE Cyprus, NOAH (Denmark) and the Center for Environment (Bosnia and Herzegovina), we are working through the Embrace project to create opportunities for young people to rebuild that connection.
The project creates a caring community rooted in nature — a space where creativity can flourish, stress and anxiety are reduced, and both people and the planet can thrive. In nature, there are no expectations: by respecting the living beings around us, we are welcomed and included.
As part of Embrace, we have:
🌿 Trained young leaders to design meaningful outdoor experiences
⛺ Organised nature camps to explore local ecosystems
🌍 Set up climate clubs for regular youth gatherings in natural spaces
We believe that closeness to nature strengthens community networks, fosters social empowerment, and builds resilience.
