Friends of the Earth Malta is producing three short videos about micromobility: to explain what micromobility is, what the benefits of micromobility are, and what can be done to improve road safety for micromobility users! We are working with a professional videographer to create videos that raise awareness and promote inclusive micromobility solutions as an alternative to private car use. To bring these videos to life, we’re looking for volunteer actors who are passionate about micromobility and are willing to contribute a few hours of their time.
Micromobility refers to the use of small vehicles like bicycles, e-bikes, and electric scooters, and even walking and wheelchair use. As Friends of the Earth Malta we are raising awareness about micromobility in our MICROMOBI project, where we show how these cool, fast and green transport modes can transform our cities for the better.
For the videos we are looking for volunteers to portray the following roles:
Roles:
- A daily commuter using an (e-)bicycle or e-kick scooter.
- A cargo bike user: a parent with one or two kids*.
- A wheelchair or mobility scooter user.
- A pedestrian, a person who likes to go around on foot.
- A person who goes around on a skateboard or roller blades.
* Note: Friends of the Earth Malta will provide an electric cargo bike to use, there is no need to have your own.
Requirements:
- Micromobility user or enthusiast, with micromobility mode of transport
- Comfortable in front of the camera and willingness to be filmed
- Available for filming sessions (lasting 1-2 hours), on either Friday 6 September (morning and/or late afternoon) or Saturday 7 September (morning) in Floriana
We will film in quiet streets and public spaces in Floriana. We will meet at the beginning or end of the day to avoid the heat and find shaded areas.
Selected volunteers will receive a cool Friends of the Earth Malta ‘MICROMOBI’ tote bag with some refreshments to enjoy during the filming!
