ASK YOUR MEPs
According to a 2020 survey, the majority of Europeans are not satisfied with the solidarity between EU Member States in fighting the Coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, we have been witnessing diverse examples of solidarity between people as a powerful tool to tackle common challenges, be it COVID or the climate crisis. Starting from solidarity as a founding value of the EU, we want to spread a positive vision of a caring society and increase a sense of connection between communities across borders, encourage people to support and replicate existing solidarity actions, and finally, stimulate dialogue and consideration about how to uphold and strengthen solidarity in the transition to a sustainable future.
We have been collecting questions from the public directed at MEPs during the past month. We have had the opportunity to sit down with 4 out of the 6 Maltese MEPs to ask them an array of questions related to solidarity, green transport, tax harmonisation, wealth disparity and many more topics. Watch the video below to see what Malta’s MEPs had to say.
