On Thursday, 13 February, Friends of the Earth Malta hosted a breakfast workshop, bringing together Malta Public Transport bus driving instructors and micromobility users—including cyclists, pedestrians, and scooter riders—to promote mutual understanding and co-create road safety solutions.
Over coffee and croissants, participants explored key micromobility insights and essential road safety rules to ensure a safer, more respectful environment for all. In smaller groups, they discussed challenges, identified opportunities, and shared ideas for improving road safety.
A key takeaway from the discussion was that public transport and micromobility should complement each other, working together to create safer roads. Through collaboration and mutual respect, we can build a more inclusive urban environment for all road users. The insights from the workshop contributed to a report addressed to transport decision-makers. You can read the report below.
This initiative is part of the MICROMOBI project, a collaboration between Friends of the Earth Malta, Friends of the Earth Cyprus, LKM, and Promimpresa, co-funded by the European Union.
