In the third episode of Friends of the Earth Podcast, Beth Fiteni, our Zero Waste Campaigner, has a chat with Jean Paul Farrugia, sustainability advocate and co-founder of ReRoot Malta.
Jean Paul originally trained as a biochemical engineer and spent several years managing large-scale pharmaceutical and biotech projects across Europe. With a strong background in science and operations, he climbed the corporate ladder – until he realized his true calling was rooted in something far more personal and urgent: the climate crisis.
Swapping boardrooms for retail, Jean Paul took a bold leap and rerouted his life back to Malta, where he launched ReRoot – a one-stop shop for plastic-free, planet-friendly goods. From locally curated gift hampers to natural beauty, homeware, and refillable cleaning essentials, ReRoot champions a practical and modern approach to low-waste living.
Outside of his work, Jean Paul is an endlessly curious soul who will talk your ear off about regenerative agriculture, food systems, or his latest travel adventures
