In September Friends of the Earth Malta was joined by 30 participants during for a 3-day Climate Action Camp which is part of our #ClimateOfChange project.
What did we get up to? We were joined by leading experts in the world of environmental activism including Andre Callus from Moviment Graffitti, Isaac Astill from the #StopAdani movement, and Intsar Bashir who spoke about Climate Migrants from Sudan. We also had workshops on how to plan and carry out a direct action.
On Saturday evening we settled in for a film & discussion evening together with Filippo Taglieri from ReCommon and Matthew Caruana Galizia from The Daphne Caruana Galizia Foundation.

We are facing one of the most turbulent decades in modern times. All signals tell us that the existing order is a long-term threat to humankind and the environment. To ensure a future for everyone, the moment to call for systemic change and climate justice is now. We are collecting signatures for an EU-wide petition demanding systemic change and climate justice.
There's one month left to collect signatures to present to European leaders attending COP27 in November. Already signed? Share the petition with friends and family.

Flower of the month
Look out for the splendid Hawthorn in fruit at this time of year! Its bright red berries ripen in autumn following the spring flowering of its beautiful clusters of scented white flowers. The small fruits are edible and recall the taste of apple. Migrating birds enjoy this autumn bonus and in return they help the Hawthorn disperse its seeds and grow new saplings.
