Help us conserve Comino's natural and cultural heritage!We have a story to share… Back in the 90s our director Martin stumbled upon an old bakery in Comino. He dreamt up a vision to one day turn it into an interpretation centre for the island, creating room for education about sustainability and a not-for-profit space for overnight stays and retreats with a functioning oven again! Fast forward 30-odd years and the island is begging for a hub of sustainability which complements its natural beauty, its cultural heritage and educates the general public about why it’s worthy of protection. What’s our vision? In its final form the bakery will become an environmental utopia which is completely self-sustaining. But, we’d like to start with the basics… 👉🏼 Gaining Security - Securing the site with windows, doors and cameras to prevent more vandalism. These three things will help us make the project more financially sustainable in the long term by turning it into a non-profit community centre, with simple hosting facilities, space for informal workshops and room for nature walks. Community Gardening: March edition
March signals the start of spring, so we're making the most of it with 3 community gardening sessions! Join us on the 12th, 19th & 26th of March to get stuck in with some hands-on work in the garden, while learning about climate resilient gardening techniques which are easy to replicate at home. |

Join our weekly Yeah Youth Hub!
Tag along for our weekly Yeah Youth Hub! Together with Generation (Change?) every Thursday we're joined by a group of young people who hang out, relax, learn and play games together.In March, we'll dedicate all the evenings we've spent together over the last few months and reflect on what we've learned. Plant of the month — Rock Rose (Maltese: Ċistu) The Rock Roses are small to medium perennial shrubs which grow in rocky areas and poor soils, typically in the Mediterranean region. Their delicate tissue-like flowers with 5 petals range in colour from white to pink and purple and only last one day! But the plant itself is very hardy and can regenerate fast after natural fires. |
