A Sustainable Farming Workshop Series (5-sessions)


Friends of the Earth Malta is opening another workshop-series in collaboration with a young farmer, Emanuela from the Veg Box.  We are very excited to welcome anyone who is interested in learning more about sustainable farming, local seasonal food and rural life in Malta. We have put together an interesting, hands on edible educational program which gives a holistic view of farming and the food sector.

Repair Cafe

A lot of items we discard can easily be fixed with a little bit of care and help from people who are knowledgeable in repairs. For our repair cafe you can either get an object that you have that is broken that you want help with fixing, or else just come and join in and learn.

Zero Waste Christmas Workshop and Clothes Swap

Central Link Project - Behind the glossy advertizing

Beyond the glossy advertising being paid for from our taxes, the reality is that people will be uprooted and their plans and dreams shattered. This agricultural land is situated in Attard and will be heavily affected by the Central Link road widening, destroying the livelihood of many farmers.

What food means to me as a European citizen

Angele, new intern with Friends of the Earth wrote an article about her point of view on food and farming.

"I’m Angele, currently an intern with Friends of the Earth Malta for 6 months. I have moved to Malta less than a month ago, having been living the majority of my life in France. At the time of writing this post, I am 24 years old and have lived those years with my parents, with the exception of a for a short work placement in Cyprus [...]. As a European citizen, I want easy access to local food in every European country, I want more local food, vegetarians options and less waste in the schools, the restaurants, and the supermarkets.
