We are seeking a motivated and creative individual to join our team as a Narrative Content & Communications Assistant. This role sits at the intersection of research, storytelling, and digital communication, supporting the organisation in translating environmental issues into clear, engaging, and impactful narratives.

The selected candidate will contribute to shaping how our work is communicated to the public, ensuring that our campaigns, research, and initiatives are accessible, compelling, and aligned with our mission with a holistic language across all of our areas of work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Narrative Content, Research & Campaign Support:

• Support the development and implementation of a consistent narrative, tone of voice, and messaging across all organisational communications
• Collaborate with project and campaign teams to ensure coherence and alignment across different areas of work
• Translate research, policy, and project outputs into clear, engaging, and accessible narratives for diverse audiences
• Contribute to campaign storytelling and communication strategies, ensuring messaging supports advocacy and engagement goals
• Develop original content based on research and identify potential collaborators (e.g. writers, photographers, filmmakers)

• Communications & Content Production:

• Create and manage content for digital platforms, including social media, website, and newsletters
• Assist in writing press releases, statements, and media materials, and support outreach across traditional and digital media
• Maintain and update online platforms, ensuring content is current, engaging, and aligned with organisational messaging
• Support the implementation of the organisation’s Communications Strategy and internal communication policies
• Assist the Comms Coordinator in planning the editorial calendar, in making sure that content is mapped out in a timely manner.

• Website, Design & Visual Communication

• Update and maintain the organisation’s website, ensuring usability and relevance
• Assisting in the content language of the website, that it is coherent and holistic across all areas of work. 
• Design and produce digital and print materials (e.g. social media graphics, leaflets, banners, educational materials)
• Edit and manage visual content, including photography for internal and external communications

• Events, Outreach & Organisational Support:

• Support communication and visibility for events, campaigns, and public activities
• Assist in preparing and distributing informational materials to engage the public and encourage participation
• Help coordinate and maintain a communications and events calendar, including documentation and reporting
• Contribute to general communications and organisational tasks as required

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, History of Art, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with social media platforms and website management
• Design skills and design software literacy (e.g. Adobe Suite, Canva, or similar tools)
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Interest in environmental issues and alignment with the organisation’s mission
• Knowledge of Maltese history and cultural context is considered an asset
