Through the past years, Katryna has learned all about permaculture, crop growing, companion planting, plant nutrition, composting, replenishing the soil, and how to create a very abundant garden patch using organic practices. She would like to share all her knowledge with 5 volunteers that would visit her garden for 3 Saturdays and really learn hands on what it means to be a crop grower.

This October we will be putting the spotlight on the thousands of local farmers who work hard every single day to produce wonderful, healthy, refreshing food for our plates. Expect to find therefore stalls with local fresh organic produce, natural food and snacks as well as food trucks with the most genuine and mouthwatering food.

Friends of the Earth Malta (FoE Malta) is looking for a temporary Project Assistant to work on our campaign related to Food Sovereignty and Agriculture. The post is a temporary part-time position of approximately 15hrs a week for a period of 3 months.

The land Victor rents from the government has been in his family for generations. He recalls having spent his childhood helping his parents and grandparents work the same land. Land, which is supposed to be outside the development zone, and thus theoretically protected by law ‘till they take it away’, Victor says.
