The holiday season is a season of giving, but it doesn't have to be the season of spending. Here at Friends of the Earth, we like gifts to be ethical and just, both from an environmental and a social perspective. Find out more about our ethical gift suggestions this year.

Our ‘Good For The Planet’ Christmas Hampers 2018 are now available!

Why Should You Buy?

The team at Friends of the Earth Malta wants to promote planet-friendly products and show you how much better they are for your health and for our environment. By purchasing these products, you are not only supporting local honey production, organic farming, fair working conditions for farmers and zero waste lifecycles, but you are also supporting us as an not-for-profit NGO!

Environmentalism is often considered a young person’s game. Mistakes made by past generations are usually to blame for the issues we face today and convincing anyone above a certain age to make more eco-conscious choices can seem like quite the feat. Retired academic, Edward Mallia, is perhaps an exception to that rule. With decades of experience under his belt, Edward’s analysis of current issues is firmly grounded in the historical facts which have allowed Malta to snowball to this point.

Repair Café: a returning event at our Green Resource Centre

During the European Week for Waste Reduction, we organised a Repair Café at our newly opened Julian Manduca Green Resource Centre in Floriana. A repair café is a community space where anyone is welcome to learn how to fix broken household goods, a place where you can find the tools, materials and know-how to get just about anything repaired.

Food Sovereignty Youth Training — Denmark, November 2018

Friends of the Earth in partnership with Friends of the Earth Europe gave the opportunity to send three participants from Malta to participate in a Food Sovereignty Communication Training. Food sovereignty is about giving power to the people who produce and consume food by being involved in policies of food production.

What's in season - December

The cauliflower may seem like a tasteless vegetable, yet its versatility sparks off many an interesting dish. It can be eaten raw, as well as boiled, cooked or grilled, and can easily be turned into a main or side dish.
