Friends of the Earth Malta is organising a foraging walk and talk in Rabat, led by ethnobotanist Timothy Tabone. We will be meeting at Rabat Saqqajja Bus Station at 10:00 where Timothy will go through foraging rules before we start the walk. We will then proceed to walk along Triq it-Tigrija, where the Mnarja horse races are held, down to Wied l-Isqof.
This will be an educational walk to learn about edible wild plants, protect species, Maltese rural areas and our agricultural and natural heritage. The scope is not to collect wild plants but to gain insight into the wild edible flora that is available in the Maltese countryside. This session is for people who are completely new to the subject of foraging or else who have would like to extend their knowledge.
Join us on this circular walk of around 3hrs. This event is in high demand so please register ASAP.
We are currently working on a project, ACT4CAP, highlighting the importance of citizen involvement in agricultural policy to ensure healthy food and protection of our agricultural land. This activity is part of the project.
