Our environmental education work is based on the experiences of informal education on both environmental and development issues carried out by Friends of the Earth over the past years, as well as the experiences of the School of Sustainability conducted over the past 7 years by Friends of the Earth groups in Latin America, and sub-Saharan Africa.

We use experiential, participatory and learner-centred informal educational techniques, allowing participants to build on their direct experiences, and to make links between these experiences and the sometimes complex issues of global development. Dialogue oriented methodologies allow participants to develop content knowledge and competences that will be valuable in conducting their own informal education and broad outreach activities, through contact with other learners, and where relevant with experts in these topics.
