The Future we want

The Future we want
Workshop on MEP elections being organised on Saturday 4th May

Will Europe take adequate climate action in the next 5 years? Will the controversial TTIP trade talks between the EU and US be resurrected? Will refugees and migrants be welcomed humanely? Or will the alarming erosion of democracy and rule of law already happening in some countries spread?

Critical questions like these will be answered by the European elections this month.

Friends of the Earth Malta wants to use these elections to send a loud message that we will not be divided. We believe in open, tolerant, compassionate communities and in European solidarity and cooperation. We also want to say clearly that Europe needs a radical change of direction. Equality, care for our environment, and social justice should be at the heart of how we live – not profits or the interests of big business.

As we get closer to the elections we are organizing debates and events about the kind of societies we want to live in. That’s why Friends of the Earth Malta will be hosting the Future of Europe seminar this coming Saturday 4th May from 14:30 to 18:00 at our Green Resource Centre in Floriana for a jam-packed afternoon filled with networking, discussions and brainstorming focused on our current environmental situation and how we want future MEP candidates to act on our behalf. The outcome of this workshop will then be presented to Malta’s MEP candidates before the election.

We need to come together and put pen to paper listing exactly what type of Europe we want for ourselves and the next generation!
